Q: How do I install the project?
A: This project uses TomTom Home for installation.
- TomTom Home 1.x: Start/open TomTom Home, choose menu "File" and there submenu "Preferences...".
In the following window the directory besides "Extra content" of the "Advanced"-tab is the place, to where to copy the files from the package.
- TomTom Home 2.x: Start/open TomTom Home, choose menu "File" and there submenu "Folder Preferences...".
In the following window the directory besides "Downloads" contains a directory "complete", which is the target directory to where to copy the files from the package.
Download the package from my website, extract the *.toc- and the *.cab-file and copy these two to the target directory.
If the target directory does not yet exist, create it!
- TomTom Home 1.x: If the project is not yet shown in TomTom Home, quit TomTom Home completely and restart it.
Select it for installation and install it.
- TomTom Home 2.x: If the project is not yet shown in TomTom Home under "Add Maps, Traffic, Voices etc.", there on the second page
under "Items on my computer" (tab "Applications"), quit TomTom Home completely and restart it.
Choose "Add".
Now unlink your TomTom safely from your PC using the little green remove-hardware-safely-arrow in your tray on the bottom right, next to your clock.
Q: How do I de-install the project?
A: Just remove the files and directories from your TomTom, that are included in the package.
Q: What does Timesync do?
A: Timesync updates the system clock, at the moment after switching your TomTom on when it finds out its actual position and while this the satellites time.
Q: Doesn't my TomTom does this on its own?
A: No, doesn't seem so. I was told by several users that their TomTom can get the actual time by using "Sync", but it will kind of "wander" over time. Timesync will do it on every startup.
Q: I installed Timesync but the time is still not correct.
A: After installing Timesync go out of your house or to where else it can find out your position. Then Timesync will correct the system time. But that can differ from TomToms navigationsoftware-time! Therefore you have to use "Sync" once again. After that it should work.
Q: It's still not precise!
A: It can differ for several secinds, but thats a TomTom-Feature and I can't do anything ybout it, sorry.
